Benjamin Balleret arrived in Amelia Island, FL, right after a Davis Cup victory in his home country of Monaco, and shorty after losing a first round qualifying match in Atlanta, GA.

usopenseriesThe plan was to have 4 solid days of training before heading to California for the LA Open which is the start of the US Open Series. Qualifications for the event start on Saturday, July 23rd. The courts in Los Angeles are brand new, and very gritty. balleret1 The training we did consisted of a lot of hitting on the court, movement training in the fields and sand, and a lot of time in the gym.

The heat of Amelia provided for very tough conditions that really got him to work hard. Benjamin grew up on the red clay of Monaco, so the hard courts will be a really fun transition for him. Hopefully my experience on the hard courts can add a new dimension to his game.
