TRX Suspension Pushup with Weight Vest/Perfect Pushup
Posted November 19, 2009 – 6:54 am in: Amelia Island Personal Training, Coach's Corner, Personal Training, Strength Training, Tennis FitnessAs you can see from my latest blogs, I’ve been using my TRX Suspension Trainer quite a bit. Bob Dykes, my client from last night, called me, “Q”, from the James Bond movie. “Q” was the person in charge of giving 007 all of his latest and greatest gadgets. I kind of like that comparison!
For the past week, Tyler was in town and he got a pretty good taste of what I am capable of doing with this bad boy. One of the many exercises that we did with the TRX Trainer was the Suspension Pushup. As with most of my pushup exercises, I choose to have my clients use the Perfect Pushup because of the way the wrist functions in the neutral position.
There are few things that are happening here that you want to pay attention to. By adding the weight vest and suspending one foot in the air, increases not only the difficulty of the exercise, but ultimately helps increase Tyler’s pushing and core strength.
