lancearmstrong72305In less than two weeks, the Tour de France will start and for the first time in Lance Armstrong’s last 8 starts, he will NOT be the odds long favorite. With a power house team that includes Levi Leipheimer, Alberto Cantador, Yaroslav Popovich, and Ivan Navarro it is very possible that Lance may have to take over the role of domestique and work for one of his team mates. lancelegs Since the conclusion of the Giro D’Italia , Lance has packed up shop and has been training in Aspen, CO.

There, he and some of his teammates can find long, isolated roads that lead up and down through incredible mountain passes. The training in Colorado is also significant because of the thin air and lack of oxygen. This is known to many as “legal blood doping”. By training at altitude, your body has to adjust, and as a result, your body produces more red blood cells.

As you can see by the most recent picture of Lance’s legs, he is very fit, and is looking to be at his fighting weight. He has been going at the training and racing very hard since last October for the start of the Tour. The clock is ticking and quite possibly the best Tour of all time is about to begin.
