In the summer of 1985, Cally boy Timothy Trigueiro became the 2nd person from Santa Barbara, CA to win the most prestigious junior tournament in the world, The US Open. Prior to his win, it was his neighbor, Michael Falberg , winning the title in 1980. Both were coached and touched by legendary tennis coach, Larry Mousouris.

In this rare video footage, Timmy T explains how he hit his forehand volley. He should know, the lengthy, 6 ft 4 athlete, was a serve and volley player that relied big time on hitting firm, crisp, and penetrating volleys. Rarely did he stay back behind the baseline, opting more for positioning his self close to it, and looking for the first chance to attack the net. It is no secret that grass is his favorite surface to play on.

Timmy T talks about the grip, the contact, and how it is important to keep the ball on the strings for as long as possible.

Enjoy!
