Tennis - The Forehand and Training

Posted April 8, 2009 – 12:41 pm in: Tennis Instruction

Ok, fingers are crossed now that my computer doesn’t malfunction while I write this post. After reviewing some video footage of one of all time great Pegasus clients (I say that because his passion for tennis unparalleled and his comments have made me laugh out loud on more than a dozen occasions!)

In this video, I tell Justin the reasoning as to why I have him do certain exercises that are forehand specific.

Horizontal Cable Pull with One Hand and Medicine Ball Rotation are just a couple that I prescribe to him and other tennis clients.

I also discuss the importance of a laid back wrist when hitting the forehand, the double bend theory and how taking a short backswing on the return is sometimes important.

Let me know what you think and I hope this helps!

    BOOM! :)

Med ball throws are a great way to train the connection between the legs and the upper body and develop power on groundstrokes!
