Tennis Drill of the Week - Bucket feeds with Legendary Coach Jerry Baskin
Posted September 30, 2009 – 1:11 pm in: Pegasus Internet Training ProgramI am a big believer of having my clients engage in “dead ball” feeds from another coach or player. I’ve made it a point to master the art of the feed myself and am always trying to get better at it. This can in no way replace hitting with an experienced pro, or high level player, but when added to it the right way, can be super beneficial.
Here we are preparing for the USOpen in Old Towne Athletic Club in beautiful Marrieta, GA. Robby Ginepri is doing some good old fashioned repetition work on the baseline with long time Coaching Legend, Jerry Baskin. Robby has always loved being drilled by Jerry and I can see why. Each feed is fed with perfect timing, and is delivered with a certain spin.
I encourage you to do this type of drilling not only for the technical, strategical placing of shots, but also for developing the mind. When you miss a shot in the drill, you immediately have to forget about it, and move onto the next ball. If you are still reminiscing about the past shot, you will in no way have the right focus for the next ball coming at you.
