Swiss Ball Hamstring Curl

Posted July 14, 2009 – 8:42 pm in: Amelia Island Personal Training

This one, I have to admit, has been inspired by my torn hamstring. There is no doubt in my mind that I tore it because of a heavy imbalance in my legs. My glutes and quads have been plenty strong, but my hamstrings I feel have been lacking in strength.

Here is junior sensation, Deiton Baughman performing one of the best exercises for strengthening you hamstrings. This swiss ball exercise will stretch your hamstring out when you extend, and strengthen your hamstrings when you pull your heals towards glutes.

You can ankle weights to increase the resistance or roll the ball on an abrasive towel that causes some friction.

Try starting off with 2 sets of 10. Work your way up to 20 to 25 reps. Squeeze your glutes and draw your abs in when you perform this one.
