Swiss Ball Elevated Split Squat
Posted October 15, 2009 – 5:09 am in: Amelia Island Personal Training Here is Macy Van Alstyne, NASM CPT, demonstrating one of my favorite exercises for developing leg strength and endurance.
As you can see in the video, Macy really has to be balanced in order to execute the movement pattern and gets a nice range of motion because of the swiss ball.
This exercise targets your glutes, hamstrings, and quads. You also have to work your core because of the balance element.
Gradually progress to this exercise by trying out a split squat where both feet are on the ground. Be sure to see a doctor before starting any exercise program. This is especially true if you have had a past injury and are unfamiliar with training. We at PisaniTraining.com encourage our viewers to hire a personal trainer to assist in form and program scheduling among other things.
