You may be asking yourself right now, “How can, “fun”, hold someone back?”. I guess, in some situations, I have made it a point to have so much fun, that the beauty and genius of the work that I have done, has been overshadowed by comic relief. Bottom line for me has always been, injury free and winning.
One of my goals when I go to train someone is to make sure it is fun, for them, and for me. If I am not having fun, I don’t want to be there. For me training has always been fun. Granted there are days when you don’t want to get it going, but generally speaking, 99.9% of the time I am training someone, or training myself, it is going to be enjoyable.

Flashback to when I was a kid. I was lucky enough to train and race with two of the best cyclists in the world, Jonas Carney and George Hincapie. They were good friends of mine, and when we went riding, games like “Fire Hydrant Sprints”, and “Boxing on Bikes”, not only got us better, but made our energy so much higher.
Make sure that you strive to have fun in your training. Look forward to it, and plan ahead on exercises and activities that you find enjoyable. If I have a client that loves to swim, you can bet your bottom dollar a good portion of his workout is going to be in the pool!
I am always searching for new and exciting exercises to incorporate into my existing routine. There is so much out there to choose from and that are beneficial to your body. Pick people to train with that you like spending time with. Make it a goal to have fun in your next training session!
