Quick and Easy Pesto

One of my favorite foods that I like to eat is Pesto Sauce with just about anything. It goes great with any type of whole wheat pasta, and is awesome with salmon and chicken. Although there are only a few different ingredients in the sauce, each one is packed with high nutritional value. Olive Oil is great for the skin, the pine nuts have many Omega’s and the fresh garlic and basil strengthens the immune system. vegan-pesto-sauce

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup of Olive Oil
5-8 cloves of fresh garlic
3/4 cup of fresh Basil
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Teaspoon of Pepper
3/4 Cup of Pine Nuts
1/2 Cup of Fresh Parmesan
Add all ingredients to your food processor. I use a Kitchen Aid and it works great. Make sure to blend it really good so that the pine nuts are chopped and mixed generously with the olive oil, garlic, and basil.

Try this: Take a nice piece of Wild Alaskan Salmon and cover the top of it with the Pesto Sauce. Wrap the salmon with pesto in tin foil and bake it in 350 degrees for about 16 mins. Serve with Pauly P’s world famous broccoli (Still to Come) and you have one heck of a healthy schmeal! :)
