I love mixing in this exercise in the workouts that I write up for my clients, especially to warm them up before their strength training, or before they play on the court.
It is one of my favorites because you can isolate the “pushing” motion and compliment your strength training with it. 
The old formula of F = MA is what reinforces this exercise for me. Force = Mass x Acceleration The more you practice throwing the heavy DynaBall, as quickly as you can, the more force you will have
