WHITE SHADOW QUALIES!!!!

WHITE SHADOW QUALIES!!!!

At 6 pm last night, Robert Kendrick got a call from the ATP Office telling him that he was first on at 10 am the next morning. Shouldn’t be a problem, Right? Well, as usual, I wrote up Kendo’s training on Pegasus had planned for him to do his strength training at 5pm, so that he would be done with the workout by 5:30.

Unfortunately, the kid they call “White Shadow”, not only did the workout, but decided, like a “Bone Head” to add some treadmill sprints into the equation. So needless to say that at 6pm and he heard the news, he knew that he had over done it just a tad.

Here’s the lesson folks, if you believe in your coach, listen to him. If I wanted Robert to do treadmill sprints, I would have assigned them. I know the guys body and where he is at physically.

I just got off the phone with Robert and told him that he needed to rest and make sure to get a good stretch. PisaniTraining does not know yet when or who he plays next. But the fact is, Kendo got a little tired in the second set and he was lucky to squeeze it out!

He was down in the second set 1-4 and 30-40 to go down 1-5, and also faced break points at 3-4, and 4-5, and 5-6! This is where significant changes in confidence and mental toughness can improve. When you win sets, or matches that you could have easily lost, you gain massive confidence!
