Hip Bursitis - Pain in your Hip Area

hipbursitis Recently, I had a couple clients complain about their right hip hurting them.

This pain occurred usually when they were sitting down, or after sleeping at night.

My friend, Josh , who is a physical therapist, diagnosed this problem as “Hip Bursitis”. This is basically an inflammation of one of the bursa sacs that is located near the hip joint.

TREATMENT

Treatment for this is simple. Avoiding the exercises or activities ( in this case golf and tennis) that aggravate the injury, ice a few times a day for 20 minutes, and taking ibuprofen. This will help get the inflammation down. Stretching all of the surrounding areas is also helpful in loosening up the hip.

Yesterday, I stayed away from any rotational exercises that involved putting stress on the hip joint and gave my client Joey Robucci a solid stretch of the hamstrings, hips, glutes, and lower back.

Today he reported feeling much better and was moving around at 90 percent capacity.
